7 Drink Detoxes

So I think it’s a little ironic to be writing this the day after my 21st birthday… Well actually. No. These recipes are exactly what I need to be whipping up today. Being able to finally legally drink means drinking more than everyone else at the bar. Combined. And what do you need after a night out like that? A major detox. Detoxes are actually really healthy for you, no matter the circumstances. It does exactly what its name states: it gets rid of toxins in your body. A buildup of toxins in your body can cause you to feel sluggish or bloated. If your immune system is weak or you’re always tired, it may be time for a detox as well.

Many people also use a detox to jumpstart a diet or fitness program. Flushing your body and starting fresh is the best way to begin a diet. However, if this is your reasoning for a detox, be prepared to feel sluggish and irritable for a few days. Your body won’t be used to only getting a limited amount of carbs and may hate you for a few days for it. But don’t worry! This won’t last long. So if anyone else plans on celebrating anytime soon or getting a kick start on that diet they have been procrastinating, write these recipes down. You will thank me for it later. WARNING: If you plan on doing a water based detox, be careful and consult with your doctor. Most people should not do a straight water based detox for more than a few days. Your body will not get the nutrients it needs and it may end up hurting more than helping.
