Celebrating Earth Day

Earth day is an important day to many people. It was started back in 1970 and is on April 22nd every year. Earth day is not only celebrated locally in our nation but in over hundreds of countries globally. We celebrate this day to honor how beautiful the earth is and to show that we care about the planet we live on. We also want to make sure that the Earth remains to be taken care of when we are long gone thousands of years from now. If you plan on celebrating Earth day this year or have never heard of it, and this is your first time, here are a couple of fun and exciting ways to celebrate:
  1. First off, you can celebrate it by spreading the word to other people. Many people have never heard of earth day and if you tell them you can help many other people enjoy the activities with you or on their own free time.
  2. You can go outside and get some seeds from Walmart or any store close by and just plant a flower and make something beautiful for the earth’s soil. You can plant anything and it will help out the earth and also it can be fun by having something to take care of. If you have someone to do it with you, it can be more enjoyable as well. After this day though, you have to make sure you still can take care of the plant because if you forget, it may die.
  3. You can also help out the Earth by making an Earth day dinner. For this dinner you can eat vegetables and fruits and for this day as DJ Khaled would say, “VEGAN ALERT.”
Earth day is a very wonderful day to get out and appreciate the world around you. You can just go outside and play with friends and have a fun time and enjoy yourself, or you can go plant flowers, trees, or anything you would like to make the earth a little more enlightened. The earth is a beautiful place and you should take this day to just look out at the skies and thank God you are on this beautiful planet. You could have been born on mars. Just kidding... but if it was not for the beautiful trees and plants around us, the world would be impossible to live in and especially to be reading this now.

Fast Facts about Planet Earth for Earth Day:
  1. The earth is approximately 25,000 miles around and 7,900 miles in diameter.
  2. The Earth does a lot for us such as give us air to breathe, provide an ozone layer so we do not burn by the catastrophic rays the sun has to offer us, and also it gives us the law of gravity so we will not be floating around everywhere.
  3. Another fact about the Earth is that we are the third planet from the sun and if we were anywhere different, we may not be on this planet right now.
The Earth has always helped us out so for this one day, be its best friend and help it out. Many people never hear of this day so they are not able to celebrate it. If you are reading this then you are one of the lucky people to know to celebrate this beautiful day. Spread the word and let all your friends know it is earth day and if anything you can dedicate one activity to this day. Many times we take for granted what we have on this earth such as walking, talking, driving, and being able to interact with other humans who we call friends. If you have a busy schedule, then you can do something as simple as wearing a bracelet or t shirt to support Earth Day and when people see you they will know it is a day to celebrate and a day to remember.
