Easy Projects for Your Home

If you own a home you most likely know the struggle of not only easy organization, but also getting tired of looking at the same thing. If you are anything like me, you like to change things up a bit and get some new scenery. I mean come on, you have to look at this stuff every day! Might as well make it worth looking at. Here are a few of my personal favorites that are easy. All you need is a little time and a little money. Most of us just do not have to have a big budget to make your house look great!

Just because you may dread doing laundry doesn’t mean the laundry room should suffer as well. Most women would agree they would much rather be doing laundry in the photo posted rather than their own. All it takes is a can of paint and a beautiful chandelier. Making it bright and cheerful will more than likely make you enjoy all of those stinky socks and underwear a little more. Okay, maybe not that part. However, just because you may be the only one seeing this room more than others, doesn’t mean you can’t make it another beautiful part of your home.

You know that spare bedroom you have around your house? Or maybe you have a closet so big that you are only using half of it for your clothes?

One of the coolest things I have ever done is this. It saved me a whole extra room that I could have just thrown a desk in and then the rest of the room is pointless. All you have to do is add a shelf in the middle of the closet for your computer, laptop, paperwork, etc. and there you have it! Your own home office area. Then, depending on how big of a closet you have, you can add you some shelves, a corkboard on the walls or inside of the doors, paint it a bright color, whatever makes you happy with it, do it!

You would be surprised how much something as small as changing the look of your doorbell or getting a new door mat can help the look of your front door. Think about it, this is the first thing anyone who visits your home sees. Wouldn’t you like for it to look good as well? You can find both of these items super cheap and a lot of different styles pretty much anywhere. If you want to take it up another notch, add a nice wreath to your door or a potted plant beside the door. The options are endless.

Floating shelves are very easy to install and something you can just about anywhere! Think about those big blank walls that you don’t have a clue what to do with. You can put them up in your kitchen to hold plates, bowls, cookbooks or anything that you would easily need to be able to get your hands on. Put the shelves in your family room to put all of your decorative items on. You can even put them in your kids room at a lower level for them to have access to all of their toys. The possibilities are there, you just have to get creative with it.

This one is fairly simple yet one of the best tricks in the book. This idea is especially good if you have a smaller area that you enjoy entertaining that you would like to look and feel more open. You can keep the same rod and just move it up almost to the ceiling and go get some longer curtains. As you can see in the picture above it truly does make a world of difference. It makes the entire window look larger, which in effect, will make the entire area feel more open due to the sunlight you will let into the room.                   These are just a few of the millions of things you can do to your home. Do not ever stop making it a better home for you. It is so easy and inexpensive, why would you even want to?
