Indoor Air Quality

Electrostatic Filtration The MERV 11 Source 1® Filter uses electrostatic filtration to filter the entire house of unwanted pollutants. Electrostatic filtration works by using an electrostatically charged filter to remove oppositely charged particulates from the air. This is a highly efficient method of filtration, removing 97% of airborne particles ranging in size from 0.01 to 2500 microns.
This filter is given a MERV 11 rating. MERV is the minimum efficiency reporting value, which is the scale designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to rate the effectiveness of air filters. A MERV 11 rating means that this filter removes particulates like dust, dander, mold spores, pollen, and bacteria.
By removing these particulates from the air, the MERV 11 Source 1 Filter not only protects the HVAC system and keeps it working more efficiently, but it also provides cleaner, healthier air. This filter removes a large number of contaminants, so it is necessary to keep it regularly replaced. MERV Rating
Source 1 filters are offered in 3 different MERV ratings; MERV 8, 11, and 13. MERV is the minimum efficiency reporting value, which is the scale designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to rate the effectiveness of air filters. The higher MERV rating indicates higher filtering performance.
Carbon Filtration
These filters are also available in Activated Carbon. Carbon filters absorb odors in their extremely tiny pores, helping to reduce common odors like tobacco odors, musty odors, cooking odors, pet odors, etc.
