Filters for the Whole House

Most people spend the majority of their time indoors, but unfortunately, this is where air pollution is the heaviest. Air pollutants accumulate in houses that are heavily insulated, and breathing these pollutants can be harmful for health. However, there is a way to reduce the amount of air pollution inside, and that is with an HVAC filter.

Whole house filtration works by attaching a filter to the HVAC system. As air passes through the system, the filter traps household contaminants present in the air. This allows the delivery of clean, pure air to all areas of the house and for all members of the family to enjoy.

Electrostatic Filtration

The Genuine Trane® Air Filters use electrostatic filtration to remove particulates from the air. By using a specially designed electrostatically charged filter media, these filters trap pollutants much like a magnet. As air passes through the filter, air particles are attracted to the oppositely charged electrostatic filter. This method is up to 20 times more efficient than regular fiberglass filters.

The Genuine Trane® Air Filters are rated according to MERV. MERV is the minimum efficiency reporting value, which is the scale designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to rate the effectiveness of air filters. These filters are given a MERV 8 rating, which means they remove particulates like dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, bacteria, and pollen. These filters provide excellent home filtration!
